The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test laboratory was first established in the Electrical Energy Systems Laboratory (EESLab) at Istanbul Technical University, in 2010 to meet the EMC testing requirements of companies which are engaged in research and developments as well as academic sectors…
The Tester TRANSIENT-2000 provides full compliance for CE Mark and ANSI transient test solutions. A choice of 4kV or 6kV SURGE generators with Combination, 100 kHz Ring, and 10/700 waves plus your choice of ESD, EFT, and voltage DIPS and Interrupts as needed. Integrated, automated, single phase CDN…
Here, at the electrical energy systems laboratory, we have been working on innovative ideas regarding the condition monitoring of On-Load Tap-Changers (OLTCs) since 2013. Obviously, there are several solutions already available for diagnosing the operating condition of OLTCs with different levels of accuracy and reliability…
Protection relays play a critical role in safe and reliable operation of power systems by detecting different types of faults promptly and then sending trip signals to circuit breakers for fault isolation. Different tests on protection relays can be performed in EESLab. We have been working on different types of relays such as, over current relays, differential relays, distance relays, fault location relays, and so on…
This is a very old and interesting piece of equipment used for test and simulation of power systems, made by Alsthom (1928-1989), presently known as Alstom a French multinational company.
It has been utilized in EESLab for transmission system modeling. It includes several line models as well as various
load types. Line and load models are flexible and their values can be selected according to desired system configurations. Currently,
these values are based on the power transmission systems between Istanbul and some of its neighbour cities. Its simulation case
studies generally consist of short circuit analysis, simulations of faults, application and analysis of protection systems, voltage control,
control of reactive power flow, among several others.
Nowadays, it is not functioning and only symbolizes the old history of our laboratory.
